With a blessing from FEMA, the Plattsmouth City Council unanimously approved rezoning, preliminary and final plans for the first phase of Castaway Pointe in April.

The new stadium is an effort to keep the CWS in Omaha for another 20 to 25 years. NCAA officials have threatened to move the event to another location after the current contract expires in 2010 unless certain conditions are met.
