he first new addition to Omaha's Riverfront is scheduled to open within the next couple months. The scheduled opening date for Rick's Cafe Boatyard on the Missouri River is October 11th. According to Rick Albrecht, of Rick's, there is quite a bit of work that needs to be completed but they still hope to meet their target date.

the new convention center and arena. The $3 million facility will have room to seat hundreds of guests. The first floor has 11,200 square feet and close to 4,000 on the second floor. The top floor will have around 6,000 feet of outside dining and will be able to seat 500.
In addition to offering a menu with a variety of steaks and seafood, Rick's will also have live jazz playing every night of the week
Future plans call for a marina next to the restaurant that will have 30 boat slips where boaters can park while they eat. According to news reports, they are still looking for bids on having this work completed. Patrons will also have access to a water taxi eventually if they would like to travel down river but do not have a
boat.
There will be
on-site parking for 500 cars plus a shuttle service and a walkway
to the new convention center/arena once that is completed.
