The prime riverfront property, which is valued at $1.6 million, is located
next to where the new $22.6 million pedestrian bridge across the
river will be built.Mayor Mike Fahey called this offer an
'awesome opportunity' for someone to build a commercial and
residential structure on the riverfront. The city is currently
accepting proposals from developers. The exact use of the building
will be left up to the developers' concept. Proposals must be
submitted to City Hall by June 25th. The price of the property is
negotiable, depending on the project proposed. Bob Peters,
acting city planning director, will head a committee that will
make the final recommendation to the mayor on the preferred
proposal. Questions should be directed to Bob Peters at
(402)444-6681 or James Thele, community development manager at
(402)444-5150.
