he '5th Annual Missouri River Poker Run' was held on Saturday, June 21st. The event was a huge success and attracted more participants than ever before. We were able to raise more than $1,400 for the 'Get in the Game' Organization (a volunteer organization that supports research and provides support to patients with ALS or Lou Gehrig's Disease).

We would like to thank the following companies for sponsoring this year's poker run. They were instrumental in helping to make this the largest boating event held on the river again this year!

We hope you will utilize the services these businesses have to offer and let them know how much they're appreciated.

We would also like to thank all the volunteers who helped out at the poker run stops and at our registration and dealer booth at Cottonwood Marina. It takes many dedicated individuals to put on an event like this and without them, this event would not be as successful or run as smoothly as it did.

We sold a total of 687 hands. Ten percent of that money plus other funds raised throughout the day were donated to the charity. The remaining ninety percent went to the top five winners:

Although the votes were very close, the poker run stop sponsored by ClearChannel Radio at mile marker 644 won the traveling trophy for the 2003 Best Poker Run Stop.

If you missed this year's event, we hope to see you next year. The Missouri River Poker Run is scheduled the 3rd Saturday of June each year. Check out our events calendar for more boating events throughout the summer including several poker runs scheduled for August.
