maha's
riverfront park will play host to a summer long blues concert
series entitled "Playing with
Fire". The monthly concerts will be held May through
September at Lewis & Clark Landing and will be free to the
public.
Mayor Mike Fahey and Jeff Davis of Davis Erection Co.
recently announced a partnership that will bring several class
blues acts to the riverfront. Jeff Davis, primary sponsor and organizer of "Playing With Fire", wanted to share his love of music and provide an opportunity for citizens to enjoy blues music from both local and national talent. "This is a great opportunity for people to not only enjoy Lewis & Clark Landing but some great blues music for free," said Davis. In
addition to the City of Omaha and Davis Erection Co., other
sponsors for the music series include: Rick Galusha; Chris Hotz; Coors Light; Coca
Cola; Homer's Music Stores; Holmes Murphy Insurance; Smartspace; Omaha Magazine; the
Omaha City Weekly; the Old Market Business Association; the Omaha Blues Society and Waitt
Media.
All concerts will begin at 5:30 p.m. No coolers, picnic baskets, food or beverage will be allowed on the plaza. Food and beverage will be available for
purchase. The public is encouraged to bring chairs and blankets.
