Omaha's new Riverfront Marina opens this Spring

By NANCY NEUROHR

Omaha's new riverfront marina will be open and ready for visitors this Spring. Situated just north of Rick's Cafe Boatyard, the marina will provide 29 visitor slips for boaters who would like to attend activities or events at Lewis and Clark Landing or the new Qwest Center.

This will also provide an opportunity for boaters to stop and have lunch or dinner at Rick's Cafe Boatyard or one of the other many restaurants located in the nearby Old Market area.

There is, however, a fee to park your boat in this marina. Slips will be rented for $5.00 per hour and will be on a first come - first serve basis. An attendant will be on hand to monitor the marina and to collect parking fees.

A convenient walkway leads the way from the boat docks to the Lewis and Clark Landing above. Spectators will be able to view the boats coming and going from a vantage point on the landing.

Hours of operation for the marina will be Monday through Friday from 5:00 pm to Midnight and Saturday and Sunday from 10:00 am to Midnight.

The new boat slips have been built to accommodate boats up to 40' in length but the size of the marina itself may make it difficult to maneuver around if fully occupied.
