Riverfront Place rolls out the welcome mat

If you're looking for a real change of scenery, you may want to consider moving to Omaha's only riverfront neighborhood - Riverfront Place.

Developers unveiled their final design last week for the development that will include two condominium towers framed by contemporary town homes. This newest riverfront project will be built on land just south of Gallup University. Construction will begin this spring. The first occupants should be able to take up residency by summer of 2006.

Each twelve-story tower will consist of 36 units ranging is size from a little more than 1,000 square feet to approximately 4,400 square feet. Each will offer spacious private patios with breathtaking views of the river or the downtown skyline. The town homes footage range from 2,166 to 2,766 square feet. Some of these will offer a sky room and roof-top deck. Parking spaces are also included with each unit.

Luxury living at Riverfront Place does not come cheap. Pre-construction pricing for a 1,052 square foot unit with two bedrooms and two bathrooms starts at $239,900. A 1,403 square foot unit featuring designer cabinetry and granite countertops start at $324,900. Prices continue to climb for the larger units with the 4,400 square foot penthouses going for approximately $1,400,000. Prices for the town homes start at $349,900.

Mayor Mike Fahey said "Riverfront Place is world-class". After viewing the final design, he said it "exceeded the expectation we had for the riverfront".

The city of Omaha selected Riverfront Partners to develop this prime riverfront property one year ago. The team is made up of Ross Robb, Kim McGuire and John Kinnear who together have more than 70 years experience in homebuilding and real estate development. Jim Hancock of Hancock, Bruckner, Eng and Wright serves as a consulting design architect. Guidance for the project is also being provided by RDG Planning and Design who did the master planning for Gallup University and the interior of the new First National Bank Tower.

A permanent sales office will open to the public November 6th in the Courtyard by Marriott hotel at 10th and Dodge Streets.
