More than 350 tons of sand will be dumped next week at Miller's Landing on the riverfront. The sand is being brought in to raise money and awareness for the Nebraska Children's Home Society Foundation.
More than 350 tons of sand will be dumped next week at Miller's Landing on the riverfront. Corporate teams will compete.

Corporate teams from throughout the city will compete in a sculpting contest on Friday, June 10th from noon until 5pm. They will be building amazing 15 ton sand sculptures that will remain there throughout the weekend for public viewing.

The following is the scheduled times for events taking place throughout the weekend of June 10-12th

Friday, June 10, 2005 - Sand Sculpting! 
Noon - 5:00 p.m. - Teams build sand sculptures
5:00 - 6:00 p.m. - Celebrity Judging of sculptures takes place
6:00 p.m. - Winners are announced
7:00 p.m. - Midnight - Patron Party on the Riverfront, including rides on the River City Star
Saturday, June 11, 2005 - Family Fun Day! 
(Open to the General Public * Free Admission)
10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Family Fun Day Activities will include a variety of family and children's activities including games, face painting, bicycle rides, fishing pond, gigantic sand play area and more. There will also be an opportunity to buy Sand Dollars to vote for your favorite sand sculpture in the People's Choice Awards. Additionally, discounted River City Star boat rides will be available to the general public every hour.
Sunday, June 12, 2005 - Free Public Viewing!
(Open to the General Public * Free Admission)
Noon - 4:30 p.m. - Free public viewing to enjoy and vote for your favorite sand sculpture in the People's Choice Awards. Discounted River City Star boat rides are also available.
