Qwest Center Omaha receives honors for 2006

Meetings MidAmerica magazine has recognized the Qwest Center Omaha as the nation's "Best Convention Center" for 2006.

planning professionals who hold meetings in the Midwest read Meetings MidAmerica for hotel, conference and convention facility updates, industry news, and insight about planning.

Readers were asked to provide their input on the industry's premier facilities, service elements and activity options, then present the results as part of the Planners' Best Bet awards.

This is a great honor for the Qwest Center and its staff who has been working hard to bring top-notch events into the facility. More than 24 associated-based, large conferences and

conventions have been booked for 2006 with guest attendance ranging from 400 - 25,000 people.

A few of those events include The American Farriers Association and Alegent President's Day Volleyball Classic in February, Professional Photographers of America and the Mary Kay Convention in March, Magnet Schools of America in April, National Science Teachers Association in October and the American Volleyball Coaches Association Convention in December.

Also receiving recognition in the January/February issue of the magazine is the Henry Ford Center in Dearborn, MI for "Best Attraction for Groups", the InterContinental Chicago for "Best Pool". the Spa Shiki at the Lodge of Four Seasons Resort in Lake of the Ozarks for "Best Spa for Groups" and Amanda Gore for "Best Speaker".
