9th Annual Missouri River Poker Run

The weather was absolutely perfect with sunny 90 degree temps bringing out sun-baked bodies and some of the most awesome looking boats you will ever see together on the river. Boaters traveled from at least 7 different states to participate in this year's run.

Many thanks go out to Brett Manire with Premier Boating Center in Lincoln, John Lawlor with Omaha Marine Center, Kevin Woodard with Superior Honda of Omaha and Gary and Jennifer McConnell with Lakewood Electric plus all their staffs for helping to make this event such a success.

We'd also like to thank Pop-n-Doc's Too Cottonwood Marina in Blair for hosting the event this year. Many people told me it was the busiest they had seen the marina for a number of years.

We sold 884 hands of poker (a new record). We also raised $1,020 for CASA.

For those of you keeping track, it is possible to get 5 of a kind when dealing 2-deck poker. This is the highest hand possible and the first time a player has won with this hand in the 9 year history of this event.
