astaway Pointe development on the river in Plattsmouth, NE has recently installed the first boat slips in their newly developed marina. There are still a few available in each size as described below:

Three years after the $40 million marina project was first announced, major construction is finally under way. Development was delayed while investors waited for word on changing the century-old flood maps to remove a floodway designation in the area. FEMA finally granted a special permit in late 2007 so construction could begin.

River Estate homes, cottages and dockside villas are being developed and available for sale. Prices range from $145,000 to $650,000 for the high-end homes.

Over the next few months, contractors will be building roads, installing storm sewers and construct a walking-trail system. The infrastructure work is expected to be completed by August.

Omaha's former River City Star was moved to Castaway Pointe this past winter and will open as a floating restaurant and bar. They are planning for a grand opening by July 4th.

Castaway Pointe is located on the edge of downtown Plattsmouth, near the Schilling Wildlife Management Area and is just a short drive from Omaha.
